I stumbled upon this adorable pink cottage during a summer visit to Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, NY. This playhouse was built for the daughters of the former estate owner William Robertson Coe. I am taking a more painterly approach to this subject and decided to use a very smooth surfaced panel board.
Spent some time painting yesterday. I added to this boat basin painting and it's almost finished. I still need to work on completing the motor on the boat and add some touches of light on the beach grass and sand. My favorite part was painting the water in front of the boat.

I spent a nice afternoon painting for a few hours. Time is limited now that school is back in session, but I want to try and make at least 2 small panel paintings a month. In the painting below, I like how the building in the background came out and the play of light in the grass.
