I painted the face of this cat over several times before I was pleased with the anatomy and expression. Something has caught his attention, but he doesn't want to leave his warm, comfy spot on the rug. Getting a little looser with every new painting and that's a good thing.

Inspired by the Snow

We have had so much snow this winter that I have decided to dedicate my next painting to Old Man Winter. This is a neighbor's house just down the road from me. I ventured out with my camera in early January to shoot the reference for the painting.

The Pink Cottage

I finally had some time to put the finishing touches on this painting. 
It was painted on a smooth surface and I had a great time building up the

grass with thick paint on a palette knife.

Snow Day

New York was hit with a blizzard and 12 inches of snow last night, so that meant snow day today. I spent an enjoyable few hours painting the pink cottage scene today.
