Some weeks ago I visited Huntington, New York and stopped to take pictures of the harbor where boats and kayaks are launched from. The lighting that day was late afternoon sunlight and the greens in the distant grasses were very vivid. This initial painting took two hours to do.

Painting on a Saturday Afternoon
Today is a beautiful fall day in New York. Time is limited now that school has started, but I am going to try and commit to painting 2-3 small panel paintings a month. I like the way this one is turning out. Still a bit more to work regarding the car and its details.

Laying in the Greens
Today I decided to work with the greens of the painting in the background and foreground. I used a palette of cadmium yellow, ultramarine blue, viridian green and raw sienna. I like working with the small 6" x 6" format because of my short attention span and fast drying time of the acrylics.
